I love them! My lips are softer and there is no adhesive residue on my face when I remove them. Plus, I think they're a little more feminine looking, when my husband looks at me, instead of looking like a kidnapping victim!
PLUMP Tape | Ultra-Moisturizing Sleep Strips
You're not sleeping badly. You've just been breathing wrong for eight hours a night.
You know the morning. Lips glued shut and split at one corner. That papery, cotton-mouth taste you have to rinse twice to get rid of. A jaw that's been hanging open since 11pm. And if you share a bed, you already know you snore — because someone has told you, probably more than once.
It's not a hydration problem you can fix with more lip balm. It's an airflow problem. The second your mouth falls open at night, your nose stops doing its job — and your nose is the part that warms, filters and humidifies every breath before it reaches your lungs. Your mouth does none of that. It just lets dry, unfiltered air run over your lips for a third of your life.
So you wake up dry, a little foggy, faintly embarrassed — and you blame the pillow, the wine, the weather. It was never any of those.
Nitric oxide produced when you breathe through your mouth. Your nasal passages make it with every single breath — it's a vasodilator that supports circulation.
Dry, unhumidified air passing straight over your lips every night your mouth stays open. That's roughly 2,900 hours a year.
Mouth breathing dries out saliva flow overnight — the reason morning breath, chalky mouth and gum irritation cluster together.
Sources: nasal breathing filters, warms and humidifies inhaled air and generates nitric oxide in the nasal passages (Cleveland Clinic; INTEGRIS Health). Reduced overnight saliva flow from mouth breathing is associated with dry mouth, bad breath and dental irritation. Puff Tape is a cosmetic and comfort product. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, including sleep apnoea. See the FAQ below for who should not use it.
Puff Tape closes your mouth so your nose can do its job — and conditions your lips while it's there.
Most mouth tape is exactly that: tape. A strip of adhesive that solves the airflow half and leaves your lips to fend for themselves. Puff Tape does both at once. A soft lip-shaped strip holds your mouth gently closed, and the hydrogel pad sitting directly on your lips spends all night doing what an overnight lip mask does — under occlusion, which is the part that actually makes a difference.
Airflow
Your mouth stays shut. Your nose takes over.
The strip is contoured to your lip line, not a rectangle slapped across your face. It holds a gentle seal from lights-out to alarm, so nasal breathing becomes the default instead of the thing you keep meaning to do.
- Anatomical lip shape, not a square patch
- Stays put through side- and stomach-sleeping
- Peels off in one piece in the morning
Hydration
Eight hours of sealed-in hyaluronic acid and vitamin E.
Hyaluronic acid is a humectant — it holds water at the surface of the skin. Sealed under the pad all night, that moisture can't evaporate the way it does off a bare lip balm. You wake up with lips that feel soft and cushioned instead of cracked.
- Hyaluronic acid, collagen and vitamin E pad
- Occlusive — the reason overnight masks outperform daytime balm
- No taste, no fragrance, nothing to lick off
Peace of mind
There's a vent in the middle. You are never sealed shut.
This is the thing everyone worries about, so we'll answer it here rather than bury it. The centre of every strip has an open vent. If your nose blocks up at 3am, you still have an airway — and the strip lifts off with one finger.
- Central vent opening on every strip
- Removes instantly, no picking at edges
- Skin-friendly adhesive, latex-free
30 strips per pack. Two packs = [60] nights, for the price of one.

The questions everyone asks at 11pm
Including the two we could get away with dodging, and don't.
Is it actually safe to tape my mouth shut while I sleep?
For most healthy adults who can breathe comfortably through their nose, yes — and Puff Tape is built with that worry in mind. Every strip has an open vent in the centre, so your mouth is never fully sealed. The adhesive is skin-friendly and lifts off with one finger, not a fight.
But safe-for-most is not safe-for-everyone, so here's the honest list. Don't use Puff Tape if you:
- Have diagnosed or suspected sleep apnoea, until you've spoken to your doctor
- Have blocked nasal passages — congestion, allergies, a cold, or a deviated septum
- Have asthma or another respiratory condition
- Get anxious or claustrophobic about restricted breathing
- Have been drinking or taking anything sedating
Best first move: wear a strip for 15 minutes awake, on the sofa, before you ever wear one to bed. If breathing feels effortless, you're a good fit. If it doesn't, take it off — that's information, not failure.
Will this stop my snoring?
We're going to under-promise here on purpose. Plenty of brands in this category will tell you mouth tape fixes snoring. The research doesn't support saying that.
A 2025 systematic review in PLOS One looked at every study it could find on mouth taping and similar devices, and came up with only 10 studies covering roughly 213 people — all rated poor quality. Some showed small improvements in snoring and mild sleep apnoea measures. Most didn't. The reviewers concluded the evidence doesn't support mouth taping as a treatment for sleep-disordered breathing.
So: some people who snore because their mouth falls open do notice a difference, and their partners tell them so. Plenty of people snore for reasons a strip of tape will never touch. If snoring is your main problem, see a doctor or sleep clinic first. Puff Tape is a comfort and lip-care product, not a treatment.
Does the collagen really plump my lips?
Not the way filler does, and we won't pretend otherwise.
Collagen molecules are far too large to pass through the skin barrier — that's basic dermatology, and it's true of every collagen cream on the shelf too. What collagen and hyaluronic acid actually do topically is hold water at the surface. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant; it binds moisture. Sealed under the pad for eight hours, that moisture can't evaporate.
The result is real but specific: lips that wake up hydrated, smooth and cushioned rather than dry and cracked. Well-hydrated lips genuinely look fuller than dehydrated ones. That's the effect you should expect. It's a cosmetic result, not a structural one, and it builds with consistent use rather than appearing overnight.
Will the adhesive irritate my skin or leave residue?
This is the number one complaint about cheap mouth tape, and it's a fair one — a lot of them use aggressive industrial adhesives that leave a sticky ring around your mouth and take a scrub to remove.
Puff Tape uses a skin-friendly, latex-free adhesive designed for facial skin and overnight wear, on a soft fabric strip rather than plastic film. To remove: peel slowly at a low angle rather than pulling it straight off. If it feels stubborn, dampen the edges with warm water first.
If you have very reactive skin or a known adhesive allergy, patch-test on your inner arm for a few hours before the first night. And your [60-day] guarantee covers you either way.
What if it falls off in the middle of the night?
Nothing bad happens — you go back to breathing the way you did before. But if it's happening every night, it's almost always one of three fixable things:
- Product on your skin. Lip balm, oil or heavy night cream around the mouth kills adhesion. Apply the strip to clean, dry lips — the hydrogel pad is your overnight lip treatment, so you don't need balm underneath.
- Congestion. If your nose blocks mid-sleep, your body will push the strip off. That's the vent and the adhesive doing exactly what they should.
- Not pressing it down. Hold the strip against your lips for a full five seconds. The adhesive needs warmth and pressure to set.
How long before I notice anything?
Two different timelines, and they're worth separating.
Lips: the first morning. This is the fastest and most reliable thing Puff Tape does. You'll feel the difference the very first time you take a strip off — soft instead of tight, no split corners.
Nasal breathing: two to four weeks. Breathing is a habit, and habits take repetition. The first few nights often feel strange and you may take the strip off in your sleep. That's normal. Most people report it stops feeling like something they're doing somewhere around week three — which is exactly why we're selling this as [60] nights instead of 30.
Use the whole first pack. If your mornings haven't changed, we'll refund you.
Not "return it unopened." Not "as long as the seal's intact." Open it, use all 30 strips, sleep on it for two months — and if you're still waking up with dry, split lips and a jaw that's been hanging open all night, email us and we'll give you your money back.
We can offer that because of what the first morning does. Nasal breathing takes a few weeks to become automatic — but the lip result shows up the very first time you peel a strip off. Most people know by day two.
The only thing you're risking is one night of feeling slightly ridiculous.
